Louisiana heads west to compete at Tempest Intercollegiate Oct. 9-11

GADSDEN, Ala. – Charlie Flynn and Malan Potgieter each fired rounds of 3-over-par 75 and joined Jake Marler with a top-10 finish to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team during the final round of the Graeme McDowell Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Robert Trent Jones' Silver Lakes Course.
 
Flynn, Potgieter and Marler each finished tied for ninth overall at 6-over 222 for the tournament as Louisiana could not overcome windy conditions and slipped to third in the final standings. The Ragin' Cajuns posted a team score of 306 in the final round to finish at 893 for the tournament and finish behind Lipscomb (883) and North Alabama (887).
 
Marler recorded a final round score of 4-over 76 for Louisiana with Eli Ortego finishing tied for 23rd (74-74-80-228) and Matt Weber (78-75-81-234) and Burke Alford (78-77-79-234), competing as an individual, both tied for 38th.
 
Lipscomb posted a team score even-par 288 to move up one spot in the standings with North Alabama shooting a 289 to finish second. Lipscomb's Ford Goldasich shot a 4-under-paar 68 to finish 2-over-218 for the event and defeated UNA's Andre Jacobs in a playoff.
 
Louisiana will return to action on Oct. 9-11 when it travels to Gladewater, Texas to compete in Texas State's Tempest Intercollegiate at Tempest Golf Club.
