Depril-Dupre, Daigle Lead Ragin' Cajuns at Warhawk Invitational

Men claim team title in six-team field; women's team places second
MONROE - Baptiste Depril-Dupre and Sophie Daigle each claimed individual titles and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Cross Country team turned in a pair of solid team performances at the ULM Warhawk Invitational on Saturday at Charles Johnson Children's Park.
Louisiana, ranked No. 12 in the latest USTFCCCA South Central poll, claimed five of the top nine spots in the men's race to finish the 7K event in first place with 29 points. The Ragin' Cajuns' women's team had five of the top 11 finishers to finish second behind host ULM (31) with 33 points.
Depril-Dupre earned his first individual crown of the season after covering the course in 21:42.0 and finishing one second ahead of ULM's Juwan Blignaut. Peyton Chaisson (22:22.0) was sixth overall for Louisiana with Samuel Avants (22:23.0) finishing seventh, Jacob Marcinkus (22:33.0) ninth and Rashid Reese (22:33.0) 10th.
Daigle claimed her second individual crown in as many races for Louisiana after posting a time of 17:26.0 to finish 1:14 ahead of second-place finisher Paula Vaquera of ULM. Haley Salsbury was fourth overall for Louisiana (19:12.0) with Kamryn Williams seventh (19:41.0), Brooke Spalitta (20:11.0)Â 10th and Caroline Spalitta (20:16.0) 11th.
Louisiana will return to action on Sept. 30 when it travels to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the Chili Pepper Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas.Â
