JONESBORO, Ark. – Coming off a midweek split at in-state rival Louisiana Tech, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team wraps up a five-game roadtrip beginning Friday when it faces Arkansas State in a Sun Belt Conference series at Tomlinson Stadium-Kell Field.

The teams will play at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday before concluding the series on Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed live on ESPN+ and can be heard in the Lafayette area on KPEL-FM (96.5) and on the #GeauxCajuns app.

Louisiana (15-14, 4-5 SBC), which has won six of its last nine games, rallied from a five-run deficit to defeat Louisiana Tech, 8-6, in its last game on Wednesday. The Ragin' Cajuns recorded 11 hits in the game as they improved to 7-0 on the season when getting 10 or more hits in a game.

Carson Roccaforte (.340-7-35) continues to lead Louisiana at the plate with Connor Kimple (.299-4-20), Tyler Robertson (.284-2-9), Heath Hood (.274-2-12) and Max Marusak (.265-2-4) following. Roccaforte and Marusak have each stolen 10 bases on the season as Louisiana enters the weekend ranks 14^th nationally in stolen bases.

Louisiana will send left-hander Brandon Talley (0-1, 3.66 ERA) to the mound in Friday's opener with right-hander Jacob Schultz (1-3, 3.90 ERA) earning the start on Saturday. Senior Jeff Wilson (2-1, 3.52 ERA) will take the hill in Sunday's finale.

Arkansas State (5-21, 0-9 SBC) has lost 17 of its last 18 games including five, one-run decisions. The Red Wolves have been swept in conference series against Texas State, Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina and come off an 8-5 loss at Southeast Missouri on Tuesday.

Freshman Daedrick Cail is hitting .333 to lead A-State at the plate with Jared Toler leading the team with six home runs and 20 RBI. Jaylon Deshazier (.308-0-19) ranks among the national leaders with six sacrifice flies on the season.

The Red Wolve will send left-hander Justin Medlin (0-3, 3.51 ERA) to the mound in Friday's opener with right-hander Will Nash (0-3, 7.50 ERA) earning the start on Saturday. A-State's starter for Sunday is to be determined.

Louisiana leads the all-time series between the schools, 87-43, and took two of three games last season at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park. The series in Jonesboro is the first between the schools since 2018 when the Red Wolves took two of three games.
