ATLANTA – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team gets back into Sun Belt Conference play when it opens a three-game series on Friday against Georgia State at the GSU Baseball Complex.
The three-game series begins on Friday when the teams meet in a 5 p.m. CT contest. Saturday's game is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT with the finale of the series moved back to its original noon CT start (from 10 a.m. CT).
In the midst of a seven-game road trip which will conclude next week at App State, Louisiana (20-16, 9-6 SBC) enters the second half of its SBC schedule winning 11 of its last 16 games, including a three-game sweep at Arkansas State in its previous SBC road swing.
Carson Roccaforte (.341-8-41), Max Marusak (.313-2-15), Tyler Robertson (.306-2-16) and Connor Kimple (.304-6-24) pace the Ragin' Cajuns at the plate with Heath Hood (.275-2-14), Julian Brock (.250-3-15) and Kyle DeBarge (.235-2-19) providing key experience at the plate and in the field.
Louisiana will send left-hander Brandon Talley (2-2, 3.43 ERA) to the mound in Friday's opener with Jacob Schultz (1-3, 3.46 ERA) and Jeff Wilson (3-1, 3.83 ERA) slated to start in the final two games.

Georgia State (24-13, 10-5 SBC) is coming off a 6-5 victory over Kennesaw State. The Panthers, currently in third-place in the SBC standings, was swept in a three-game series last week at rival Georgia Southern after winning their previous eight games.
The top three home run hitters in the SBC - Max Ryerson (13), Griffin Cheney (12) and Luke Boynton (9) – fuel a Georgia State offense which leads the league in home runs (54) and is third in the league with a .296 batting average.
Boynton (.391-9-28), Cheney (.376-12-26) and Ryerson (.342-13-35) lead Georgia State at the plate with Cameron Jones (.341-4-23) and DeAngelo Abboud (.301-2-22) following.
Right-handers Trey Horton (0-0, 5.24 ERA), Chandler Dawson (2-3, 4.64 ERA) and Camren Landry (2-2, 3.41 ERA) will start on the mound for Georgia State.
