No. 38 Louisiana Completes UTRGV Match, Increases Win Streak to 13 Matches

Ragin' Cajuns quickly build upon 2-0 lead gained prior to suspension of play on Friday
LAFAYETTE - The No. 38-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis team wrapped up a 13th consecutive victory on Saturday, March 12 at Cajun Courts, completing a weather-suspended match with UTRGV capturing a 6-1 triumph.
Louisiana (14-1) carried a 2-0 lead into Saturday's resumption of play as Vasil Dimitrov and Kacper Dworak had claimed wins at No. 6 and No. 5 singles, respectively, prior to Friday's stoppage of play.
The victory, which continues the Ragin' Cajuns best start in the 2000s era, was sealed after Oriol Fillat Gimenez wrapped up his straight sets win at No. 3 singles (6-3, 6-4) followed by Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez completing his comeback at No. 2 singles (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) to open a 4-0 match lead.
The evening concluded with Louisiana taking all three doubles contests from the Vaqueros (2-10) capped off by Karlo Kajin and Sanchez Gonzalez claiming a win on Court 1 by posting a commanding 7-3 win in the tiebreaker.
All three of the Ragin' Cajuns 10-plus singles winners extended lengthy win streaks. Fillat Gimenez (13-1) picked up a 12th straight win, Dimitrov (12-3) extended his win streak to eight games and Calin Postea (11-2) won for the fifth straight outing after he rebounded with back-to-back 7-5 triumphs at No. 4 singles.
