Ortego's 3-Under-69 Leads Louisiana at Lake Las Vegas

Final round for Ragin' Cajuns begins at 10:20 a.m.
HENDERSON, Nev. – Freshman Eli Ortego recorded his second career round in the 60's at the collegiate level, posting a 3-under-par 69 to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team during the second round of the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Reflection Bay Golf Club.

Louisiana, playing in its second event of the spring, posted a team score of 10-over 298 to remain in 13th place in the field.

The final round of the 54-hole event will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT. Louisiana, which will be paired with Georgia State and Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) in the final round, will start from the No. 10 tee beginning at 10:20 a.m CT.

Ortego moved up to 13th place in the field after posting seven birdies on the day, including four consecutive holes on the back nine. He opened the day posting a 1-under-35 on the front nine before finishing at 2-under 34 on the back to finish one stroke off his career best set in the second round of the Hoakalei CC Invitational.

Peter Hinnant and Hunter Hammett each posted rounds of 4-over-par 76 on the course with Matt Weber recording a 77 and Justin Caldwell an 81. Â
