Louisiana, ETSU Battle for Asheville Championship Sunday

The Ragin’ Cajuns and Bucs tipoff at 3:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Louisiana men's basketball battles for its first trophy of the season as it takes on East Tennessee State on Sunday in the championship game of the Asheville Championship at the Harrah's Cherokee Center.
 
The game tips off at 3:30 p.m. CST and can be seen on ESPNU or heard locally on KPEL 96.5 FM.
 
Louisiana enters the contest with a 2-0 ledger and defeated Harvard, 74-61, Friday in the tournament's opening round. Terence Lewis led the way, posting his fifth-career double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Jordan Brown added 19 points and nine rebounds.
 
For the season, Brown tops the team with 22.5 points per game as Lewis averages 14.5. Themus Fulks is averaging 11.0 points per game and a team-high 5.0 assists.
 
ETSU advanced to the title game after defeating Elon, 77-64, on Friday. The Bucs are led by Deanthony Tipler, who averages 13.0 points per game and Jalen Haynes, who averages 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.
 
The meeting is the third all-time between the two schools with Louisiana claiming the first two.
