LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana Men's Tennis doubles pairing of Ivailo Keremedchiev and Kacper Dworak have entered the ITA Division I Men's Doubles Rankings and are currently ranked as the 29th-best doubles partners in the country.
Keremedchiev and Dworak are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season, a 6-2 victory over No. 10 Sven Lah and Constantin Frantzen at No. 3 Baylor last weekend.
"Congrats to Ivo and Kacper, they played the best doubles match I had seen a UL team play in my 14 years here," head coach Mark Jeffrey explained. "That is saying a lot as we have had top 240 ATP players come through our program."
Dworak and Keremedchiev currently own a 9-1 record and saw an impressive win over a No. 6 Texas doubles pair that showcased the US Open Juniors Doubles Champion last year.
"I cannot remember the last time four players on our team had ranked wins over the course of the same year," Jeffrey said. "This is incredibly positive for our program, and justifies all of the hard work the guys are putting in. It's great for the guys to get rewarded for all of their hard work"
Louisiana will continue play on Saturday and Sunday in Mobile, Ala., with matches against Troy and South Alabama.
