No. 1 tandem posted 2-0 week with wins over Texas Tech, New Mexico
NEW ORLEANS – After a flawless weekend against a pair of nationally recognized programs, Louisiana's Mason Landreth and Leonard Tramolay have been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Ragin' Cajuns tandem turned in a perfect 2-0 mark at the top of the lineup, at No. 1 doubles in point-clinching matches against Texas Tech and New Mexico.
Landreth and Tramolay opened the weekend with a 7-5 victory over Niksa Arsic and Thiago Guglieri of Texas Tech, helping Louisiana secure the doubles point. They followed with another gritty performance, edging Alberto Perez and Jakub Pracher of New Mexico in a 7-6 (7-5) decision.
Louisiana (3-3) will travel to Corpus Christi, Texas, to compete in the H-E-B Invitational. The Ragin' Cajuns will face New Mexico State on Saturday at 9 a.m., before closing out the weekend against host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday at 9 a.m.
