Final tuneup for Louisiana prior to Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Track and Field team gets its first look at the Birmingham CrossPlex during the 2021 Indoor Season when it competes on Sunday at the Jaguar Invitational hosted by South Alabama.
 
Field events begin at 12:10 p.m., with running events set for 12:15. Louisiana will be part of a 16-team field that includes host South Alabama plus Alabama-Huntsville, Alabama State, Arkansas State, Georgia State, Louisiana Tech, Little Rock, Mississippi Valley State, Samford, Stephen F. Austin, Southern Miss, UAB, ULM, UT Arlington and Western Kentucky.

Louisiana is expected to bring 51 athletes to the venue, which will also serve as host of the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 22-23. The Ragin' Cajuns competed at a pair of events last week in meets at LSU and Arkansas State.
 
Three members – Kiana Foster (women's 200 meters), Trejun Jones (men's 60-meter dash) and John Joseph (men's triple jump) – look to build on their top marks among Sun Belt Conference atheltes. Joseph is also ranked No. 4 in the SBC in the men's long jump while newcomer Golden Eke is ranked second in the triple jump and third in the long jump.
 
Obdarius Ware, ranked No. 2 in the SBC, will compete in the men's long jump for Louisiana with Cole Courtois looking to build on his No. 3-ranking in the men's pole vault.
 
Three other Ragin' Cajuns – Emoni Coleman (women's 800-meters), school-record holder Reagann Leleux (women's pole vault) and Serenity Rogers (women's 60-meter hurdles) – will look to improve their place on the Sun Belt Performance List as the trio enters Sunday's event ranked second among SBC athletes.
