Hinnant's 71 Leads Ragin' Cajuns at Jim Rivers Intercollegiate

CHOUDRANT – Peter Hinnant posted a 1-under-par 71 to remain on pace for his fourth career top-20 finish while the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns posted a team score of 4-over 292 to wrap up the second round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Monday at Squire Creek Country Club.

The final round of the 54-hole event is slated to begin on Tuesday at 8 a.m. Louisiana, which is in 10th place at 595, will tee off from the No. 10 tee beginning at 8:40 a.m. Live results will be available at GolfStat.com.

Junior Bjorn Gudjonsson rebounded from a subpar first round to record a 1-over 73 while the freshmen tandem of Matt Weber and Jake Marler each recorded rounds of 2-over 74. Cole Kendrick rebounded from an 83 on Sunday to card a 5-over 77.

Hinnant, who fired a 1-over 73 in Sunday's opening round on the par-72, 7,105-yard course, overcame a rough start that included bogeys on two of his first three holes. The junior went bogey-free the rest of the day beginning with a birdie at No. 5 before posting birdies on the back nine at No. 13 and 17.

Gudjonsson overcame a pair of bogeys on the front nine to finish at even-par 36 at the turn before stopping a pair of bogeys to open the back nine with a birdie at No. 12. Marler, who was at 5-over through his first eight holes, carded a 3-under 38 in his final 10 which began with an eagle on the par-5, 546-yard No. 9.

No. 44-ranked UAB blistered the course in the second round with a team score of 13-under 275 to finish at 559 after 36 holes. First-day leader Texas State was eight strokes back at 567 with ULM (572), South Alabama (574) and Little Rock (575) rounding out the top five.

UAB's Nick Robillard maintained his individual lead after posting a 4-under 68 to finish at 9-under 135 after two rounds. Teammate Drew Mathers and Little Rock's Anton Albers were four shots back at 139.
