LAFAYETTE - Louisiana Baseball will host Northwestern State for a midweek matchup on Wednesday night at M.L. 'Tigue' Moore Field at Russo Park with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Ragin' Cajuns (2-6) recently dropped two out of three against Virginia Tech, but were able to claim their first win against an ACC program since June 14, 2000, when they defeated Clemson at the College World Series.
Louisiana is slated to throw two-way player Brandon Talley. Talley has been great out of the bullpen, throwing 6.2 innings of work in two separate appearances while only surrendering one earned run.
The Louisiana bats are still trying to find a groove and are seeing more pitches in its at-bats. Freshman Julian Brock finished the weekend against Virginia Tech by going 3-for-3 and reaching base four times.
Northwestern State (6-1) is planning to throw Josh Banes, a right-handed pitcher from Learned, Miss.
Similar to Talley, Banes has already worked 6.1 innings out of the pen. In his most recent outing, he went 4.1 innings and struck out four batters against North Alabama.
