Louisiana Hits The Road To Face SBC Rival South Alabama

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team opens a three-game road trip on Thursday when it travels to Mobile, Ala., to face Sun Belt Conference rival South Alabama at the Mitchell Center.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM, RaginCajuns.com and the Hot 107.9 mobile app with Jay Walker on the call. The game will also be available on ESPN+ with J.D. Byars (Play-By-Play) and Pat Greenwood (Color) providing commentary. Live stats will be available at CajunStats.com.

Louisiana (10-15, 5-9 Sun Belt) opens the week facing preseason favorite South Alabama (14-11, 7-7 Sun Belt) before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday in a 6 p.m. contest at Troy. The Ragin' Cajuns, who play four of their final six regular-season games on the road, will wrap up the road trip on Feb. 22 at ULM.

The Ragin' Cajuns, who have won three of their last five games, dropped an 86-79 contest to Georgia Southern last Saturday despite a season-high 23 points from Cedric Russell. Jalen Johnson (15.2 ppg.) leads Louisiana in scoring with Russell (13.0), freshman Mylik Wilson (11.6) and senior P.J. Hardy (9.6) following in the scoring column.

The last three games in the series between Louisiana and South Alabama have been decided by a combined eight points. The Jaguars claimed a 60-57 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns in the previous meeting between the schools on Jan. 2 at the Cajundome.
