O'Boyle, Goff Lead Ragin' Cajuns at Little Rock Open

Louisiana finishes third, fifth in final tuneup prior to SBC Championships
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Damian O'Boyle recorded his third top-10 finish of the season with Key Alfred and Kelly Goff each posting top-20 performances in their respective events to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Cross Country team at the Little Rock Open on Saturday at War Memorial Park.

Competing in its first 8K event of the season and final tuneup prior to the Sun Belt Conference Championships in two weeks, Louisiana earned a third-place finish on the men's side with 86 points and finishing behind Central Arkansas (26) and host Little Rock (41) in the seven-team meet.

The Ragin' Cajuns women's team earned a fifth-place performance on the 5K course with 134 points, finishing behind Missouri State (29), UCA (40), Little Rock (83) and Arkansas State (106).

O'Boyle paced Louisiana on the men's side as he covered the 8K course in 26:54.0 to finish seventh overall. Alfred finished 17th overall for Louisiana in 27:57.6 with Conner Meche (28:16.2) finishing 21st and Rashid Reese 23rd (28:24.6).

Competing in their first collegiate 8K event, freshman Braden Scalisi finished 28th (28:55.8) for the Ragin' Cajuns with fellow freshmen Justin Unger (29:02.0) finishing 29th, Cameron Angelle (30:38.6) 38th and Caedmon Kyles (30:39.0) 39th.

Goff recorded a personal-best for the Ragin' Cajuns on the 5K course after finishing 20th overall in 20:01.9. Rosalie Michot posted a personal-best time of 20:18.5 to finish 25th for Louisiana with Ally McCulley (20:40.2) finishing 31st, Meredith Hebert (personal-best 20:44.7) 33rd, Tarryn Hill (21:21.3) 39th, Lauren Cantrelle (21:26.2) 40th, Emoni Coleman (21:27.3) 41st, Pierra Charles (21:31.6) 44th and Alivia Johnson (23:09.1) 56th.

Louisiana will compete at the annual SBC Championships, scheduled for Oct. 31 at the Old Brookley Golf Course in Mobile, Ala.
