Men’s Tennis Cruises Past FAMU, 4-0

TALLAHASSE, Fla. – The Louisiana Men's Tennis team (2-0) continues its successful start to the early part of the season, beating Florida A&M, 4-0. Florida A&M only competed five players, resulting in Louisiana automatically winning the sixth singles and third doubles spot in the match.
In the matches they did not win because of forfeit, every Ragin' Cajun claimed a win. No. 1 singles player Jan Galka picked up a 6-2, 5-1, unfinished, to lead all other Ragin' Cajun singles players winning in straight sets.
With a jumpstart towards the doubles point, the Ragin' Cajuns only needed one win to claim the doubles point. The Ragin' Cajuns did not have any trouble as the pairing of Galka and Kacper Dworak won 6-3, and Ivailo Keremedchiev and Pierce Gilheany won, 6-1.
"The guys came out and took care of business at No. 1 and 2 doubles to clinch," head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "Stefan Gazo was first off the courts today, followed by [Pierce] Gilheany at No. 5 singles. That is what you want, your bottom guys taking care of things early."
Louisiana will look to win its third consecutive match on Friday when its faces FAMU again at 1 p.m. CT.
