TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Louisiana Men's Tennis team ended its Florida road swing falling to the No. 28 Florida State Seminoles, 5-2 on Saturday morning.
The Ragin' Cajuns claimed the first point of the match with their two doubles wins from the Jan Galka and Kacper Dworak and Karlo Kajin and Pierce Gilheany. Galka and Dworak's win was incredibly impressive as they beat the preseason ranked No. 11 doubles grouping of Alex Knaff and Sebastian Arcila, 6-3. The win is even more prestigious as the Florida State pairing made it to the Sweet 16 last season. Kajin and Gilheany took down Chase Wood and Rana Roop Bhullar, 6-4.
Ivailo Keremedchiev was the only Ragin' Cajun to claim a singles victory beating Juan Martin Jalif, 7-5, 6-4. Galka and Dworak both won their first set, but fell in three sets. On a positive note freshman Kajin made his spring debut for the Ragin' Cajuns, but fell 6-3, 6-3.
Louisiana will be back in action on Saturday, January 18, when it hosts a doubleheader with Alcorn State for its first home matches of the season.
