Injury-riddled Louisiana wraps up five-game, 10-day stint in Statesboro

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team wraps up a rugged five-game-in-10 day stretch on Saturday when it visits Georgia Southern in a Sun Belt Conference clash at Hanner Fieldhouse.
 
Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM, ESPN 1420 AM and the ESPN 1420 app. The game will also be available on ESPN+ with live results available at CajunStats.com.
 
Louisiana (7-10, 2-4 Sun Belt) returns to action after dropping a Thursday night contest at Georgia State. The Ragin' Cajuns, who dressed nine players in the game due to injuries, had seven scholarship players available in the game and set season-lows in points, field goal percentage (28.8 percent), field goals made (17) and steals (2).
 
Jalen Johnson, who scored 12 points in the game, leads Louisiana in scoring (14.1) with Cedric Russell (13.5) next.
 
Georgia Southern (10-7, 4-2 Sun Belt) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 67-56 victory over ULM on Thursday. Isaiah Crawley and Elijah McCadden combined for 30 points and five 3-pointers as the Eagles built a 37-25 lead at halftime and held the Warhawks to 3-for-15 from behind the 3-point line.
 
After facing Georgia Southern, the Ragin' Cajuns will return home for three straight games beginning on Jan. 16 against UT Arlington before facing Texas State (Jan. 18) and ULM (Jan. 25).
