Ragin' Cajuns Head To Lone Star State For Gerald Richey Invitational

Louisiana part of nine-team field in second event of the season
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's cross country team returns to action on Saturday for its second event of the season when it travels to Arlington, Texas to compete in the Gerald Richey UTA Invitational at the Jesse Owens Sports Complex.

The 5K race will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the women's race with the men's 5K event scheduled after. Live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com. Louisiana will be joined in the nine-team field by host UT Arlington, TCU, North Texas, Dallas Baptist, Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas Wesleyan and Southeastern Oklahoma.

Louisiana opened its season on Aug. 30 at the New Orleans Cross Country Opener where the women posted a fourth-place finish with the men finishing fifth. The Ragin' Cajuns recorded a combined six top-20 finishes in the event with Key Alfred and Stanley Limoh finishing 14th and 20th overall on the men's side.

Freshman Rosalie Michot earned a seventh-place finish in her Louisiana debut with two others freshmen – Emoni Coleman and Lauren Cantrelle – finishing 10th and 14th respectively.
