BRISTOL, Tenn. – No. 66 Louisiana Men's Tennis (14-4), despite two matches in singles going three sets, dropped its first match in two weeks, 7-0, to the East Tennessee State Buccaneers (7-3, 2-0 SOCON) in a match that was played indoors at the Bristol Racquet Club.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Doubles): Louisiana dropped the doubles point, to start in a 1-0 hole against the Bucs, when at No. 2 doubles the Louisiana duo of freshmen Jan Galka and Kacper Dwoark fell to the ETSU duo of Frazier Rengifo and Yusuf Khamis, 6-3. At No. 3 doubles, the Louisiana pairing of juniors Elio Lago and Jamie Fraser fell to Sergi Fontcuberta and David Gonzalez 6-4, giving ETSU the doubles point and a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Singles): In singles junior Pearse Dolan, playing No. 2, fell in straight sets to Fontcuberta, 6-3, 6-4, and at No. 3 senior Arthur Libaud dropped his match to Juan Lugo, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 4 singles, Lago fell, 6-2, 6-1, to Khamis and at No. 5 singles Fraser fell to Gonzalez in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
