LAFAYETTE – Picking up where they left off, Louisiana Women's Tennis (3-0) and McNeese State (0-3) will resume the match that was postponed on Tuesday, Jan. 22, starting at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at Cajun Courts with Louisiana leading 1-0.
PICKING UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF: The match will begin right where it left off when rain halted the action back on Jan. 22, with Louisiana having taken the doubles point, leading 1-0. The clinching point in doubles had come in the form of an exciting comeback at No. 1 doubles by Louisiana's pairing of junior Clara Mantaux and sophomore Dana Radovanovic.
The Louisiana pair had been down 5-1 to McNeese State's Marija Mastilovic and Charoline Erlandsson, before storming back to win in a tiebreaker, clinching the doubles point for Louisiana 7-6(5). Singles then began, but rain followed shortly after and it caused the match to be postponed until Jan. 30.
At No. 1, freshman Floriane Picaut was behind Giovanna Fioretti (2-5); At No. 2, Radovanovic was sitting behind Erlandsson (3-4); Freshman Hoda Habib was leading Mastilovic (4-3) at No. 3; Mantaux was holding a 5-3 lead over Sofia Moreno at No. 4; At No. 5 junior Marina Rodriguez Garcia was leading Carlotta Romito (4-3) and at No. 6 freshman Ai Noa Fabre was ahead 3-1 against Charlotte Ziegler.

PICKING UP A WIN INBETWEEN: Louisiana hosted Incarnate Word on Saturday, Jan. 26 and picked up its third consecutive win to start the season, winning 5-2 over the Cardinals. Junior Milena Achlamov, who won both her singles and doubles matches, clinched the win for Louisiana with a straight set 7-6(3), 6-3 win at No. 6.
Joining Achlamov in the win column in singles was Garcia (6-3, 6-1), Fabre (4-6, 7-5, 7-5) and Picaut (6-4, 6-4) to help Louisiana continue its hot start to the 2019 season.
