Marze Finishes 32nd For @RaginCajunsTRK At NCAA East Regionals

Three Cajuns to compete on Saturday
TAMPA, Fla. – Freshman MacKenzie Marze capped off an impressive first season for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team, finishing 32nd overall in the women's javelin during the first day of the NCAA Division I East Preliminary on Thursday at the USF Track and Field Stadium.
Marze, a Lafayette native, launched a throw of 145-3 for Louisiana to finish seventh in her heat in the 48-athlete event. The former Teurlings Cathlolic product posted the third-best mark in school history (150-11) at the Louisiana Classics in March and was No. 40 in the NCAA East Region entering the meet.
The Ragin' Cajuns will close out the meet on Saturday with women's triple jumper Taylor Walker competing at 11:30 a.m. CDT, along with men's javelin throwers Bartul Basic and Hunter Stelly scheduled to compete at 12:30 p.m.
The top 12 qualifiers out of the NCAA East Regional will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 6-9 in Eugene, Oregon.
