Nelson Earns All-American Honors in Eugene

The two-time Sun Belt Conference Champion placed 15th overall, becoming the first Cajun to earn the honors in the event since 2004
EUGENE, Ore. - Jeremy Nelson earned Second Team All-American honors in the triple jump at the NCAA National Championships on Friday in Eugene, Oregon.
The junior placed 15th overall after completing a second jump of 50-8.75/15.46 for his best of the night. Nelson becomes the program's first All-American in the outdoor men's triple jump since Lawrence Willis did so in 2003 and 2004.
Oklahoma claimed the top two spots with Brandon Green winning the triple jump national championship with a final jump of 55-2/16.81. His teammate, Floyd Whitaker, finished second at 53-10.75/16.41 followed by Kyvon Tatham of Florida State at 53-3/16.23.
