LAFAYETTE – After finishing their best regular season since 2014, the second seeded Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis (18-9) team begin their march towards a title, when they face the seventh seeded Appalachian State Mountaineers on Friday, Apr. 20, in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Championships with the match in Peachtree City, Ga., starting at 5:30 p.m. CT.

HOW TO LISTEN/TRACK: Friday night's match will be broadcast over internet radio at RadioTennis.com and fans can follow the action via live stats that are provided by the Sun Belt Conference.  Links for both the radio broadcast and live stats can be found at RaginCajuns.com

CAJUNS GET NAMED ALL-SBC: Sophomore Elio Lago was named to the 2018 All-SBC second-team in singles, after going 24-9 overall during the 2017-18 season, and he became the third straight member of the Cajuns to be named to the All-SBC Team.

In doubles sophomore Pearse Dolan and freshman Pierce Gilheany were named to the 2018 All-SBC second-team.  The Cajuns duo finished 11-4 during the 2017-18 season and they became the sixth straight Cajuns pair to be named to the All-SBC team in doubles.

WHAT THE MOUNTAINEERS BRING: Friday's match will be the first time that Louisiana and App State have met on the courts in either school's history.  App State brings a 11-10 record into the match and they've lost four out of their last five matches coming into Friday's match.

The Mountaineers had three players named to the All-SBC teams, one in singles and one doubles pair.  Scott Webster, who finished 15-4 during the spring, was named to the All-SBC first-team in singles.  And in doubles Webster along with Milo Bargeron were named to the All-SBC first-team after they finished 14-4 together during the spring.

IF THE CAJUNS WIN: A win by Louisiana would move them to the semifinals of the championships, which are scheduled to take place on Saturday, Apr. 21 starting at 2 p.m. CT, and they'd match up with the winner between the third seeded South Alabama Jaguars and sixth seeded UT Arlington Mavericks.
