Women's Tennis Heads To Texas For DH Against PVAMU

LAFAYETTE – After a three-match home stretch, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team (8-5) heads to Prairie View, Texas for a doubleheader against the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers on Saturday, Mar. 10 with the first match starting at 10 a.m. and the second scheduled for 2 p.m.
DREW WINS A TRIO: In singles, senior Kelly Drew has won her past three matches, including taking down South Alabama's Alexandria Stiteler who was ranked No. 90 in the nation. She's played at No. 1 through the entire stretch, winning all three of the matches in straight sets, with her battle against Stiteler going to a tiebreaker in the first set, being the closest to reach three-sets.

Drew currently sits at 6-3 (5-3 at No. 1) and she's 3-4 in doubles to give her a combined record of 9-7 through the midway point of her senior season.
WHAT THE LADY PANTHERS BRING: PVAMU enters the doubleheader with the Cajuns sitting at 2-12, and they opened up the season losing their first 10 matches. They got their first win Feb. 17 and doubled up on Feb. 24 before losing their next match at Texas State.

Louisiana has won the last three matches between the two schools, and this is the third year in a row that the two teams have met on the court. There was one break in the series, in 2015, and Louisiana returns to Prairie View, Texas for the first time since 2016.
