Louisiana's Brazil Set To Compete At NCAA Indoor Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns sprinter Jeryl Brazil looks to become the school's first track and field indoor All-American in four years when he competes on Friday in the 60-meter dash at the NCAA Track and Field Indoor Championships at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium on the Texas A&M campus.

Brazil will compete in the preliminaries of the 60-meters at 6:05 p.m. Live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com with a live stream of the meet available on ESPN3.

Brazil, who will run in the first of two heats in the 60-meters, qualified for the national meet after posting a school-record time of 6.55 seconds last month at the LSU Bayou Bengal. His recorded time, that shattered his previous school (6.70) set in 2016, was the second-fastest in the nation this season and 12th-fastest in the world.

The Loranger, La., native looks to become the first Ragin' Cajuns indoor All-American since Justin Victor (weight throw) in 2014 and the first sprinter since Larry Moore in 1992.
