JONESBORO, Ark. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to continue its season-long six-game road trip on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the first of three games against Arkansas State at Tomlinson Stadium.

The Ragin' Cajuns and Red Wolves continue the series on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before wrapping up play on Saturday with a 1 p.m. first pitch.

The Ragin' Cajuns hold an 82-39 all-time series edge over Arkansas State having won the last seven meetings including a sweep of the Red Wolves last season at home.

Freshman Hayden Cantrelle is on a team-best eight-game hit streak posting a .423 average (11-for-26) with five RBI and a .515 on base percentage during the streak. Senior Kennon Fontenot extended his team lead in RBI on the season to 16 after driving in two runs against LSU.

Senior left-hander Colten Schmidt anchors the Louisiana pitching staff with a 1-0 record and a 1.58 ERA. Schmidt ranks third in the nation in both walks allowed per nine innings and strikeout to walk ratio.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season.
