Ragin' Cajuns Set To Host Annual Louisiana Classics

Two-day event features majority of Louisiana schools
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team will host some of the top programs in the state, including schools from Arkansas and Mississippi, when it opens the two-day Louisiana Classics on Friday at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility.

Action will begin on Friday at 3 p.m., with field events before concluding at 8:15 p.m., with the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Competition resumes on Saturday at 10 a.m., with field events with running events set for 2:30 p.m. Live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com.
Schools participating include Louisiana, Alcorn State, Louisiana College, ULM, LSU, Louisiana Tech, Loyola (N.O.), McNeese, New Orleans, Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern, Southern Arkansas, Tulane and Xavier (N.O.).

Friday's action for Louisiana will be highlighted by the 2018 debut of both Bartul Basic, the two-time Sun Belt Conference champion in the javelin, and Hunter Stelly, the 2017 SBC runner-up.

Sean Bouzigard posted the fourth-best mark in the javelin (186-4) in his 2018 debut last week for the Ragin' Cajuns at the McNeese Cowboy Relays with Mackenzie Marze (141-0) and Claire Meyers (136-2) posting two of the top-three SBC marks in the women's javelin.

Tisay Woodhouse will compete in the women's hammer throw for Louisiana after her mark of 170-4 last week was the third-best in school history. Richard Delphin, ranked No. 4 in the Sun Belt in the men's hammer throw, will compete for the Ragin' Cajuns with Claire Hodges (women's 3,000-meter steeplechase), Beau Robinson (men's 3,000-meter steeplechase) and Dylan Heck (3,000-meter steeplechase) all slated to participate.

Highlighting Saturday's competition for the Ragin' Cajuns will be Kyle Baudoin and Matt Wilson in the men's pole vault with Courtney Musgrove competing in the women's 1,500-meters and Taylor Walker in the women's triple jump.

Damon Guidry, Sven Glueck and Angus Sinclair will each participate in the men's high jump for Louisiana with Tyler Hughes and freshman Kameron Cummings competing in the 110-meter hurdles.
