MONROE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to close out the regular season this week with a three-game series against ULM starting Thursday at 6 p.m. at Warhawk Field.

Game two of the series is slated for Friday at 6 p.m., while the two teams wrap up the regular season on Saturday with a 2 p.m. first pitch.

Louisiana (32-20-1, 16-10-1 Sun Belt) comes into the series in second place in the Sun Belt West Division and is two and half games behind UT Arlington for first place. The Cajuns rank first in the league in pitching (3.31 ERA) and defense (.977) and are eighth in hitting (.265).

Junior left-hander Gunner Leger (9-2, 1.95 ERA) will make the start on Thursday and matchup against junior lefty Trey Auger (0-3, 6.19 ERA). Leger has a team-best nine quality starts and ranks fourth in the nation with nine wins.

The Cajuns will continue the all-lefty rotation for the third straight series with junior Colten Schmidt (1-1, 3.72 ERA) making the start on Friday, while sophomore Hogan Harris (4-2, 2.80 ERA) will close out the weekend on the mound.

The Warhawks will start senior right-hander Josh Leone (2-5, 5.35 ERA) on Friday and have yet to announce a starter for the series finale.

Junior Steven Sensley is coming off of a strong week at the plate as he was named the LSWA Co-Hitter of the Week after hitting .412 (7-for-17) last week with seven RBI and four extra base hits including his 10th home run of the year. Sensley is tied for ninth in the Sun Belt with a .328 average and has reached base in a team-best 22 straight contests coming into the series.

The Ragin' Cajuns hold an 85-52 all-time series lead against the Warhawks. Louisiana has won 19 straight meetings with ULM sweeping the series at home a year ago. The Cajuns are 45-18 under head coach Tony Robichaux in the series and have won nine straight at Warhawk Field.

ULM (14-20, 6-21 Sun Belt) has lost ten straight games coming into the series after being swept by Coastal Carolina and Troy in back-to-back series. The Warhawks have won only two series on the year with one coming in conference play against Little Rock at home in late March.

Offensively, ULM ranks ninth in the league in hitting (.257) while coming in last in the conference in pitching (6.64 ERA) and defense (.962).

Junior Turner Francis leads the Warhawks offensively with a .321 average posting nine doubles, two triples, three home runs and 25 RBI.

Following the ULM series, the Cajuns will head to Statesboro, Ga. for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament which starts with the play-in games on May 23. Louisiana would see its first action at the tournament starting May 24.
