Cajuns Set To Host Georgia State

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team hosts Georgia State on Thursday in the second game of a three-game homestand at the Cajundome.

Louisiana (8-4, 2-1 SBC) is coming off a 67-57 win over ULM on Saturday and is seeking its third straight win.

The Cajuns are led in scoring by senior guard Jaylyn Gordon (18.9 ppg). Gordon leads the Sun Belt Conference in points per game and three-point field goals made per game (2.7). She leads the nation in minutes played per game (39.3).

Junior Simone Fields is third in the league in scoring (16.4 ppg). Fields is first in the SBC in field goal percentage (.570) and sixth in rebounds per game (7.6).

Freshman Jasmine Thomas (9.3 ppg), junior Troi Swain (8.3 ppg), senior Gabby Alexander (6.3 ppg), junior Nekia Jones (5.0 ppg) and junior Jodi Quinn (4.5 ppg) all have seen significant playing time for the Cajuns.

Georgia State (5-9, 1-2 SBC) is coming off a 77-47 loss to South Alabama on Saturday. The Panthers are coached by Sharon Baldwin-Tener, who is in her seventh season as head coach.

Senior forward Tiffany Holston leads Georgia State in scoring (10.2 ppg). Holston ranks second in the league in rebounds per game (9.1).
