JONESBORO, Ark. – Riding a four-game win streak, the 27th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to head to Arkansas State for a three-game conference series against the Red Wolves at Tomlinson Stadium.

First pitch of the series opener is slated for 6 p.m. on Friday. The two teams meet again on Saturday at 4 p.m. before closing out the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Cajuns (16-9, 6-3 Sun Belt) are coming off of a 5-4 comeback victory over Nicholls on Tuesday rallying for three runs in the ninth to claim their fourth straight win. Louisiana swept Georgia State at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field in its last conference series. The Ragin' Cajuns have won four of their five series this year with two coming in conference play.

Sophomore left-hander Gunner Leger will return as the game one starter on Friday. Leger is 3-1 on the year with a 1.82 ERA in six starts. Leger is tied for the team lead in strikeouts with sophomore right-hander Wyatt Marks who will take the mound Saturday for the Cajuns. Marks is 2-2 with 4.85 ERA in six starts.

Freshman right-hander Nick Lee will close out the series on the bump for Louisiana boasting the squad's best record at 4-1. Lee has a 3.15 ERA in six starts and is limiting opponents to a .197 batting average.

The Ragin' Cajuns offense is averaging 5.3 runs per game coming into the series with a .272 average, 40 doubles, six triples and 18 home runs.

Senior Kyle Clement saw his first action in almost a month at Nicholls after suffering an injury in the New Orleans game on March 1. Clement is hitting .414 with three doubles and five RBI through nine games.

Joe Robbins paces the team hitting .344 with three doubles, three triples and 19 RBI. Nick Thurman leads the team with eight doubles hitting .278 with 10 RBI.

Louisiana holds a 75-38 edge in the all-time series with Arkansas State having won the last two meetings between the teams. The Ragin' Cajuns are 41-27 against the Red Wolves with head coach Tony Robichaux at the helm.

Arkansas State (12-12, 3-6 Sun Belt) has dropped all three of its Sun Belt Conference series this year losing two of three at home to Georgia Southern last weekend. The Red Wolves fell 8-3 in the series opener to the Eagles but then bounced back with a 6-5 victory before seeing the series slip away with a 9-7 loss in the finale. The squad picked up an 11-5 victory over Memphis on Tuesday.

ASU will start a trio of right-handers against the Cajuns with junior Tyler Zuber (2-2, 4.55 ERA) getting the nod on Friday. Adam Grantham (1-2, 4.45 ERA) is slated to make the start Saturday, while Bryan Ayers (2-2, 5.13 ERA) will close out the weekend on the mound.

Offensively, Arkansas State is hitting .254 with 34 doubles, seven triples and 11 home runs. The Red Wolves are averaging 5.9 runs per game led by Tanner Ring who is hitting .330 with six doubles, a triple, four home runs and 20 RBI. Ring also serves as the team's closer with two saves.

Ty White, Joe Schrimpf and Matt Burgess each have driven in at least 18 runs on the season. White is second on the team in average hitting .324 with four doubles and six stolen bases.

Following the Arkansas State series, Louisiana will host Northwestern State in a midweek game at The Tigue on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
