Cajuns Compete At Rain-Shortened Jaguar Classic

Baudoin sets career-best in men's pole vault
MOBILE, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team earned six second-place finishes, including a career-best mark from freshman Kyle Baudoin in the men's pole vault, as they competed in the rain-shortened Jaguar Classic on Friday at Jaguar Track.
Ten events were completed in the both the men's and women's competitions before the rest of the meet was cancelled due to rain.
In the team standings, host South Alabama swept on both the men's and women's side. In men's events, USA scored 67 points with Florida A&M (27) and Louisiana (22) following, while the Jaguars scored 44 points in the women's events to edge Georgia State (41), with Minnesota (25) and Louisiana (15) following.
Baudoin posted a mark of 16 feet, 9 ½ inches to finish second to USA's Matthew Dillon (17-1 ½). The Ragin' Cajuns added three second-place finishes on the men's side as Richard Delphin posted a mark of 146-0 in the discus, Spencer Nezat (48-11 ¾) in the shot put and Tyler Hughes (14.63 seconds) in the 110-meter hurdles.
Cole Stafford (4:27.83) placed third overall in the men's 1,500-meter run for the Ragin' Cajuns with Matt Wilson (14-10) finishing fifth in the pole vault.
Claire Hodges posted a time of 4 minutes, 49.30 seconds to finish second overall in the women's 1,500-meter run for Louisiana. Alexa Johnson added a second-place finish (10-6) in the pole vault, with Hannah Siegmund (58.09) finishing fourth in the 400-meter dash, Kaitlyn Moreau (14.67) finishing fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and Jasmin Fusilier (106-8 ¾) fifth in the javelin.
Louisiana will return to action beginning Friday when it hosts the annual Louisiana Classics at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Complex.
