Women's Tennis Comes Up Short at No. 25 Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team fell at No. 25 Mississippi State, 4-0 on Saturday morning in Starkville.
The loss dropped the Cajuns record to 6-6 this season.
"Overall, we played well and I was happy to see us play aggressive," Ragin' Cajuns head coach Stephanie Vallejos said. "The other team was more confident in their shots and it showed when the games were close.
"We have a little bit of a break that we'll take advantage of and then get our focus on our next match at home."
In doubles, Mississippi State's Georgiana Patrasc and Caroline Kelly defeated UL's Elena Sava and Juliette Clement at the No. 3 spot, 6-0. The Bulldogs took No. 2 doubles as Anastasia Rentouli and Kristina Vozniak prevailed over the Cajuns Alexandra Way and Abby Johnson, 6-4.
No. 1 singles went to Mississippi State's Jasmine Lee, who eliminated sophomore Kelly Drew, 6-0, 6-2. Rentouli took No. 4 singles over junior Dana Brankovic, 6-0, 6-1, while Vozniak ended the day with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Johnson at No. 5.
The Cajuns are off until Sunday, March 6 when they host Grambling State for an 11 a.m. first serve at Cajun Courts.
