Ragin' Cajuns Visit No. 25 Mississippi State Saturday

LAFAYETTE -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team travels to Starksville, Miss. this Saturday, Feb. 27 for a 10 a.m. first serve with 25th-ranked Mississippi State.

Louisiana (6-5) last played on Sunday, Feb. 21 and came away with a 4-1 win against Alcorn State. The Cajuns came back in both doubles and singles to prevail over Alcorn State in the victory. The duos of junior Dana Brankovic and sophomore Abby Johnson and senior Juliette Clement and sophomore Elena Sava won the final two doubles matches, while Sava took the decisive third singles round to clinch the victory.

Senior Melissa Burckhartt and sophomore Kelly Drew are tied for the team lead with six singles wins this spring and have also teamed up for a team-high six doubles wins. Johnson and junior Alexandra Way share five doubles victories, while Sava and Clement are 5-2 in doubles.

No. 25 Mississippi State comes into Saturday's match with a 7-1 mark this season and a four-match win streak. Georgiana Patrasc is a team-best 9-0 in singles play, while Madison Harrison and Patrasc are 5-2 in doubles play.
