NEW ORLEANS -- Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis senior Jake Wynan was named Sun Belt Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office.
Wynan, a native of Nimmitabel, A.C.T., went 1-1 in singles, including a victory over the No. 99-ranked singles player in North Florida's Jack Findel Hawkins by a 7-5, 6-4 final. The win helped seal the team victory for the Cajuns over the North Florida Ospreys who were #66 nationally ranked. Wynan fell 6-4, 6-2 to No. 50 Rice's Adam Gustafsson on Sunday in No. 2 singles.
Wynan and the Ragin' Cajuns (5-4) return to action this Saturday, Feb. 20 for a 1 p.m. first serve vs. No. 39 Drake.
