LAFAYETTE – The Ragin' Cajuns (10-2, 3-0 SBC) go for their ninth win in their last 10 games overall when they play at Arkansas State for a 3:05 p.m. tip-off Saturday, Jan. 9.
The Cajuns (10-2, 3-0 SBC) are currently in the midst of a three-game win streak.
Fourth-year head coach Garry Brodhead is one win away from becoming the second-winningest coach in the history of the Louisiana program. He is currently tied with Ross Cook (57) for the second-most wins in program history. Brodhead trails only J. Kelley Hall (86 wins) on the Cajuns all-time coaching ledger.
The Cajuns have won three road games this season (3-2 record). The most road wins they have recorded in a single season under Coach Brodhead is seven, accomplished during the 2014-15 campaign (7-6).
The Cajuns defense is holding opponents to 54.5 points per game this season, second behind UT Arlington (53.7 points per game). They are also limiting Sun Belt Conference opponents to 53.7 points per game in three contests, second-lowest among Sun Belt Conference schools (UT Arlington - 48.0 average). Nationally, Louisiana is tied with South Carolina for 29th in scoring defense.

The Cajuns have built a three-game win streak and can take over sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt Conference standings with a win over the Red Wolves (9-3, 3-0 SBC).
The Ragin' Cajuns are off to their first 3-0 conference start since the 1982-83 season. They are seeking the program's first win in Jonesboro since Feb. 17, 2000 (74-71 final). Louisiana is 2-3 against Arkansas State in the past five meetings overall.
Louisiana's defense is yielding just 54.5 points per game, the second best figure in the Sun Belt Conference this season. The offense is averaging 66.2 points in five conference games, while yielding an average of 63.8 points to conference opponents.
Arkansas State has won 15 consecutive home games following a 66-43 victory against ULM on Thursday. Senior forward Khadija Brown-Haywood recorded her fifth career double-double of the season in the victory over the Warhawks (15 points, 10 rebounds). The Red Wolves are off to their best start through 12 games since the 2003-04 season (9-3 record).
Coach Brodhead at the Helm: Louisiana head coach Garry Brodhead is in his fourth season at the helm of the Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball program, finishing with 23 wins last season, the most in a single season since 2006-07 (25). Brodhead guided the team to 15 victories at home in 2014-15, a program record. He is currently tied with Ross Cook (57) for the second-most wins in program history (57).
Cajuns In the Rankings: The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team fell two spots to No. 24 in last week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. The Cajuns garnered 108 total points in the rankings.
Veal Honored: Cajuns senior guard Keke Veal was named Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Player of the Week in a unanimous vote on Wednesday.
Veal, an Opelousas, La., native, averaged a team-high 16.0 points to go with 3.5 rebounds, five assists and a team-best nine steals in a pair of wins last week over Alcorn State and Appalachian State. She tied her career high with six steals in a 60-51 win over Appalachian State and extended her double-digit points streak to 25 games. She is the first Cajun to win the weekly award this season.
Welcome Back: Returning from redshirt seasons are senior Brooklyn Arceneaux and junior Sylvana Okde. In 2013-14, Okde averaged 10.9 points and drained a team-high 74 three-pointers. That season, Arceneaux finished as the team's second-leading scorer (among players in at least 25 games played) averaging 10.5 points and adding 5.2 rebounds per contest. Arceneaux has averaged 4.2 points and 4.0 rebounds (tied for second) in eight games as a starter and 12 games overall. She is shooting 39.3.% (22-of-56) from the floor and has come up with nine steals on the defensive end of the floor. She is also one of four players with double-digit assists (10). Okde has appeared in five games this season. She scored two points and picked up an assist in six minutes in an 84-36 win over Dillard back on Dec. 12.
Triple Threat: Keke Veal, Kia Wilridge and Jaylyn Gordon combined for 56 of the Cajuns 65 points in the win over Little Rock this past Thursday. The 56 points were the second-highest total by the trio in a game this season. The three players produced 59 points on opening night at Ole Miss (Gordon - 29, Veal - 18, Wilridge - 12).
Wilridge Assist Watch: Senior guard Kia Wilridge picked up two assists in the last game at Little Rock, bumping her career total to 258. She is four helpers shy of passing Alicia McDaniel for sole possession of sixth place on the Cajuns' all-time list.
Gordon 3-Point Watch: Junior guard Jaylyn Gordon enters Thursday's game with 138 career three-point field goals made, currently seventh-most in Cajuns history. She needs six more triples to pass Onna Charles for sole possession of sixth place in Ragin' Cajuns history.
Veal Seeing Double: Senior guard Keke Veal has scored in double-figures in 26 consecutive games dating back to last season.
What's Next? The Cajuns will visit Georgia Southern next Thursday, Jan. 14 for a 4 p.m. tip-off in Statesboro.
