LAFAYETTE --
The first day of the 2015 Cajun Tennis Classic is in the books following the first two rounds of Championship Singles from Cajun Courts. 

In the Round of 32 Championship Singles, Louisiana junior Eric Perez faced off with Oklahoma's Alex Ghilea, falling in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. 

Cajuns senior Jake Wynan dropped a two-set match to Ole Miss' Vinod Gowda 6-4, 6-4. 

Justin Butch of LSU defeated Louisiana senior Edgar Lopez 6-3, 6-4. 

Louisiana junior Will Huyton went three sets with USC's Max de Vroome, but was eliminated 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

In his first intercollegiate action, Louisiana freshman Arthur Libaud came up short against Georgia's Paul Oosterbaan 6-4, 6-4.

Libaud responded in the back draw taking a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Graham Stalder of the TCU Horned Frogs. 

Lopez advanced in the back draw vs. TCU's Trey Daniel, prevailing 6-3, 6-0. 

The Cajun Tennis Classic will resume tomorrow morning with consolation singles play commencing at 9 a.m. The quarterfinals championship round is slated for noon with the Round of 16 Championship Doubles and Consolation Singles play set for 2:30 p.m. The day's final event will begin at 5 p.m. with the quarterfinals championship doubles.
