Cajuns look for first win in Jonesboro since 2000
LAFAYETTE – For the second consecutive year, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team will close out the regular-season when it visits Arkansas State in a Sun Belt Conference game at the ASU Convocation Center.
Tipoff is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. and can be heard in the Lafayette area on Talk Radio 960-AM.

Last Time Out
• The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team nearly erased a 22-point deficit in the second half before time expired and Sun Belt-leading UALR held on for a 68-66 win Thursday at the Cajundome.
• The Cajuns (18-10, 10-9 Sun Belt), who trailed 50-28 with 12:53 remaining, had closed their deficit to 65-63 with 9.3 seconds left after a Jodi Quinn basket.
• UALR (25-4, 18-2 Sun Belt) received two free throws from Kaitlyn Pratt to create a two-possession lead, 67-63, with 8.5 seconds showing. The Trojans would intercept a length-of-court pass by Robbie Brown snuffing out the Cajuns' last effort at completing the comeback.
• Kia Wilridge connected on a triple as the final horn sounded resulting in the final margin and leaving Louisiana wondering about missed shots in a the opening half in which the team shot 34.6 percent (9-of-26).
• Wilridge led a quartet of Cajuns in double figures with a team-best 16 points. Jaylyn Gordon (15), Keke Veal (14) and Brown (10) were the others in double figures.
A Look at A-State
• Arkansas State (20-9, 15-4 SBC) secured the No. 2 overall seed heading into next week's Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament with a 70-60 victory over South Alabama Thursday evening at the Convocation Center.
• Jasmine Hunt finished just three points off a career-high with 20 points and also grabbed 11 rebounds for her third career double-double. Aundrea Gamble chipped in with 18 points and seven assists, while Khadija Brown-Haywood and Hanna Qedan finished with 13 points each.
• With the victory A-State recorded its third 20-win regular season in school history and the first time that the Red Wolves have won 20 games in the regular season in back-to-back years. The school record for most victories in a single season is 21, which was set during the 1992-93 season.
• An 11-0 run midway through the first half helped the Red Wolves build a 20-13 lead behind a strong start by Gamble. The redshirt junior knocked down her first four shots from the field and led all scorers with nine points in the half. Qedan added eight points on 3-of-6 shooting and finished the opening frame with an 18-8 edge in points in the paint.

• Arkansas State leads the all-time series between the schools, 45-14, and have won the last nine meetings in Jonesboro dating back to 2001.
