HOOVER, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set for its final weekend series tune-up before opening Sun Belt Conference play as the Cajuns face No. 25 Alabama in a three-game series at the Hoover Met starting Friday at 3 p.m.

The opening game was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m., but was moved up do to forecasted temperatures for Friday evening. Game two of the series is slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday, while first pitch for the series finale is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.

All three contests will be broadcast live on the SEC Network + and ESPN3 with Chris Stewart on the call and Lee Tracey providing color.

Friday's game can also be heard on ESPN 1420-AM while Saturday and Sunday will be on News Talk 96.5 KPEL-FM with Dan McDonald calling the play-by-play and Jeff Schneider adding color. Live stats are available on RollTide.com.

Head coach Tony Robichaux is one win away from reaching the 1,000 career win plateau posting a 999-650-1 record in 29 seasons including 736 wins at the helm of the Cajuns.

The Ragin' Cajuns (4-4) are coming off of a tough 5-4 loss in 17 innings to in-state foe McNeese State in a mid-week contest. Louisiana won its last weekend series taking two of three games from Stony Brook at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field claiming the rubber match with a 2-1 victory on a game-winning hit by senior Tyler Girouard.

Freshman Evan Guillory will start the opening game of the series for the second straight weekend for the Cajuns. Guillory is 1-0 on the year with a 2.80 era in two starts throwing 9.2 innings.

Senior Greg Milhorn has moved into the Saturday spot in the rotation coming off of a solid performance against Stony Brook. Milhorn held the Seawolves to one run on three with four strikeouts going a career-high seven innings. Sunday's starter has yet to be announced.

Alabama with counter with Louisiana native Taylor Guilbeau on the bump Friday. The left-hander is 1-1 on the season with a 2.25 ERA in 12.0 innings posting 14 strikeouts with five walks. Right-hander Will Carter is slated as the Saturday starter, while right-hander Geoffrey Bramblett will take the mound on Sunday for Bama. Bramblett leads the squad in wins (2), ERA (2.19) and innings pitched (12.1).

Offensively, Nick Thurman leads the way hitting .438 with a double, a team-best two triples and three RBI. Thurman is slugging .750 with a .500 on base percentage.

Junior All-American Blake Trahan is third on squad hitting .333 with 11 hits and has reached base in 21 straight contests, while Joe Robbins leads the Cajuns in both home runs (2) and RBI (8).

The Cajuns and Tide have met six times all-time with Alabama holding a 4-2 edge coming into the weekend series at the Hoover Met. Louisiana picked up both of its wins in the series last year at home. The Ragin' Cajuns shutout the Crimson Tide in the first two games of the series winning 2-0 and 6-0 behind the arms of former Cajuns Austin Robichaux and All-American Carson Baranik. Alabama claimed the final game 12-6. Â

Prior to the 2014 series, the two most recent meetings came in the New Orleans Regional hosted by Tulane in 2005. The Crimson Tide won 7-5 in the first meeting and then picked up a 4-3 victory over Louisiana in an elimination game to knock the Cajuns from the tournament.

Alabama comes into the series on a three-game win streak picking up a pair of mid-week victories against Savannah State, 7-4 and 4-2. The Crimson Tide dropped two of three to Houston on the road last weekend coming away with a win in the series finale.

Casey Hughston and Kyle Overstreet pace the Tide offensively as Hughston tops the squad hitting .636 with six doubles, one triple, two home runs and 15 RBI. Overstreet is second with 14 RBI and a .406 average.

Following the Alabama series, the Ragin' Cajuns head home for five straight contests including the Sun Belt opener against Troy from March 6-8 at the "Tigue".
