LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team will host its first spring match of the season on Saturday when it hosts Lamar at 1:00 p.m. at Cajun Courts.
Fans are encouraged to get to Cajun Courts early as the first 50 fans through the gates will receive a free bowl of jambalaya, courtesy of Aflac.
Louisiana, who entered the season ranked No. 66 nationally, opened the season with a 2-1 weekend at the Florida State Invitational. The Cajuns fell in the opening match to No. 72 North Florida before rallying to defeat Furman and South Alabama, a meeting that served as a re-match of last year's SBC championship.
The Cajuns have taken on the Cardinals in four of the last five seasons in non-conference play, winning each of the last three matches since its last loss to LU in 2010.
Jake Wynan leads the Cajuns into the weekend after picking up a pair of wins in No. 1 singles a week ago, while Vlad Kramarov also showed well with a pair of singles wins in three tries at the FSU Invitational.
Following its match with the Cardinals, the Cajuns will go on the road for three straight matches against nationally-ranked opponents, beginning Jan. 23 in Los Angeles against No. 1 USC.
