LAFAYETTE, La. – The seventh ranked Louisiana baseball team is set to host in-state foe Southeastern Louisiana in a mid-week contest at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field on Wednesday night as the squad continues a seven-game homestand. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.

The Cajuns (10-2) are coming off of a 3-1 week against teams from the Southeastern Conference including a 4-1 win at top-ranked LSU in a rain shortened contest and a series win over No.21 Alabama.

Tyler Girouard and Ryan Wilson are tied for the team lead in averaging hitting .333, while Seth Harrison has a team-best nine RBI on the season.

The squad is ranked in the NCAA top 50 in 10 offensive categories including 47th in runs plating 70 through 12 games for an average of 5.8 per game.

The Ragin' Cajuns rank fourth in the nation with four shutouts after picking up two over the weekend against Bama. The Cajuns boast a 2.61 ERA, which ranks third in the Sun Belt. Â The Cajuns starter for the SLU contest has yet to be determined.

Louisiana holds a 59-46 edge in the all-time series having won the last two meetings between the two teams. The Lions (7-4) had won nine straight before losing both contests in 2013.

Southeastern Louisiana had a five-game win streak snapped with a pair of losses at ULM in a three-game series falling 6-5 and 3-2 over the weekend.

The Lions are hitting .291 as a team and are led by Jameson Fisher at .476 with four doubles, a triple and 13 RBI. Andrew Godbold is second on the squad hitting .351 with 11 RBI.

SLU starter Sean Kennel is 1-1 on the season with a 3.86 ERA in two starts giving up five runs on nine hits in 11.2 innings with 10 strikeouts.

M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field saw win 800 this past Saturday when the Cajuns posted a 6-0 shutout of the Crimson Tide. The Ragin' Cajuns are 800-313-2 at the Tigue since it opened in 1978 with this being the 37th year the team has called it home.

The Cajuns close out their seven-game homestand this weekend with a three-game series against Texas Southern starting on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Tigue.
