PLAY BALL
The Ragin' Cajuns baseball team wraps up midweek home-and-home series with McNeese State and Southeastern Louisiana. The squad travels to Lake Charles on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m., meeting with the Cowboys, then returns home to meet the Lions at 6 p.m., on Wednesday at “The Tigue”.

GOING FOR THE SWEEP
Louisiana looks to pick up season sweeps of McNeese and Southeastern Louisiana. The Cajuns produced runs in three straight at bats in the seventh inning to erase a 5-4 deficit vs. McNeese on April 2 at “The Tigue” and won 8-5. UL erased a 3-0 deficit in Hammond on March 26 by scoring seven runs over the middle frames on the way to a 9-6 triumph that snapped a nine-game losing streak to SLU.

FINE TUNED HITTING MACHINE
As a team, the Cajuns have collected double digit hits in 12 of the last 18 games and 23 games overall. UL is hitting .336 and slugging .521 as a collective unit since April 1.

HICKS SETS THE STANDARD
Matt Hicks tied the school single season save record with his ninth of 2013 in the FAU opener and in the process moved into sole possession of first place on the career charts with his 13th career save.

REDISCOVERING THE MAGIC
The Cajuns pitching staff ERA of 2.88 in the FAU series marked the staff's lowest weekend series ERA since a 2.00 ERA during the ULM series March 15-17.

WINNING THE WEEKEND
Louisiana has claimed the weekend series from the opposition in eight of the 10 series. With the FAU series win, UL has now won three straight series after dropping back-to-back sets to Middle Tennessee and WKU.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Tuesday's trip to Lake Charles brings head coach Tony Robichaux to a familiar scene. He's a former player and 1986 graduate of McNeese and began his coaching career there in 1987.

THE McNEESE SERIES (Louisiana leads 87-62)
Series has been an annual recurrence since 1988. In fact, 1973, 1985 and 1987 are the only three seasons that programs haven't meet since 1972. UL has won 12 of the last 14 meetings, overall.

THE SLU SERIES (Louisiana leads 58-46)
Programs are meeting for the 105th time. UL is 14-11 vs. SLU under Tony Robichaux. SLU had won nine straight meetings overall before UL's 9-6 win in Hammond on March 26. Now, the Cajuns aim to halt a four-game losing streak to SLU at “The Tigue”.

BASES NOTED
Kody Smith gets the midweek start on Tuesday a second straight week...In his last two midweek appearances (relief vs. Tulane & start at Nicholls), he's held the opposition to eight hits and a .186 average in 12 2/3 innings...Seth Harrison homered in each game of the FAU series and accumulated a team-best six RBI in the series…Harrison joined Chase Compton and Tyler Girouard as Cajuns to homer in back-to-back contests in 2013...Louisiana has produced 137 extra base hits ranking second in the Sun Belt only behind Troy's 151 extra base hits...UL has hit 39 home runs through the season's first 40 games and is one homer shy of reach 40 home runs for the first time since 2010... Dex Kjerstad has posted multiple hits in 15 of the last 21 games...This weekend the Ragin' Cajuns make their final trip to Miami for a Sun Belt series with FIU... FIU has won the past five season series (2008-2012); UL's last series win came in 2007 in Miami.
