BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Twins Hunter and Yates Johnson will represent the Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team this weekend at the USTA Birmingham Features held at the Highland Park Tennis Center. The pair are slated to compete in both singles and doubles at the event.
Â
"Hunter and Yates are ready for a big break through on the professional scene," head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "I really see them gaining a world ranking this week. It will be tough with them having to win two matches in the main draw, but I really feel like they are ready. They have been consistent and performed well this fall. They are ready for the next step."
Â
Singles qualifying kicks off on Friday morning and runs through Monday, Oct. 21, while the main draw for doubles starts on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Â
"Hunter and Yates have come such a long way in a short amount of time," Jeffrey added. "It would not surprise me if they competed and made it all the way with the title. They are ready for sure."
