Cajuns Fall at Middle Tennessee

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns soccer team dropped a tough match at Middle Tennessee on Friday night, falling to the Blue Raiders by a final score of 4-0.
The Cajuns (8-8-0, 3-4-0) surrendered four first half goals, including three within ten minutes of each other.
MT first got on the board in the 13th minute thanks to a score from Whitney Jorgenson. The Blue Raiders (8-8-0, 5-2-0) would break the game open with three goals between the 26:52 and 36:29 marks in the first half.
The first was Jorgenson's second of the game, while the Cajuns gave up the second to the Sun Belt's leading goal scorer Vanessa Mueggler. The score was the 11th of the season by Mueggler.
Middle Tennessee's final goal came thanks to Reina Thomas in the 37th minute.
Amanda Moorefield played in goal for UL in the first half, making three saves in addition to allowing the four goals. Lauren Berlingo relieved Moorefield at halftime and went the rest of the way in goal for the Cajuns.
MT outshot Louisiana 14-8 on the night. The Cajuns did not allow a shot on goal in the second half, but still trailed the Blue Raiders in that category, 7-4.
Tess Voisard led the Cajuns with two shots on the night with both coming on goal.
The Cajuns continue their road trip on Sunday when they travel to take on Western Kentucky who defeated La.-Monroe Friday night. The Cajuns and Lady Toppers are set to kick-off at 1:00 p.m.
