In the 14th minute of the match, LSU was able to grab an early 1-0 lead off a Malorie Rutledge goal. Carlie Banks fired a shot that was saved by Lauren Berlingo. But the UL goalkeeper could not control the rebound allowing Banks to grab the loose ball and make a dish to Rutledge in front of the net for the score.
The Cajuns had a chance to tie near the end of the first half but Cayla Chatman missed an opportunity when LSU's Mo Isom came out of the net to challenge the shot. But Chatman's shot went wide of the right post.
The Tigers tacked on another goal in the 43rd minute when Rutledge scored her second goal of the match. Natalie Ieyoub and Courtney Alexander were credited with the assists.
LSU's Reyna Lubin scored the Tigers' third goal of the day in the 61st minute and Taryne Boudreau tallied the fourth in the 82nd.
Lauren Berlingo (0-3-0) recorded nine saves, despite allowing the four goals.
The Tigers out shot the Ragin' Cajuns, 17-6, on the afternoon.
The Cajuns will now hit the road for a three-game road stretch. On Friday, UL will take on Southeastern Louisiana before opening conference play with North Texas on Sunday in Denton, Texas.
