Orlando, Fla. ? After starting the season 3-0 Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team faltered for the first time this season dropping a 4-3 decision to Central Florida Saturday afternoon. The Cajuns jumped out early winning the doubles point but couldn't maintain the lead.

“We let the match slip away after winning the doubles point,” said Head Coach Mark Jeffrey.

Piotr Banas and teammate Yanick Mandl won their doubles match by a score of 8-6. Arlen Domoney and partner Javier Pulgar continued their double dominance by winning their fourth consecutive match.

In the singles portion of the match UL got wins from Pulgar and Neil Schneider. Pulgar, the reigning conference player of the week, remains unbeaten after a straight set win of UCF's Johan Beigart. Schneider continues to impress from the number six position improving his season record to 3-0 in singles matches.

Central Florida was able to stop UL's Banas in the final match to secure the win. It marked the first time all season that Banas lost.

Jeffrey stated that “Central Florida is a very good team, this was going to be a tough match to win if we didn't play perfect and it just so happened to be we didn't execute to our fullest.”

UL is back in action Sunday when they face FAU in Boca Raton at 12 p.m.
