The Crimson Tide (6-3) scored one goal in each half and was never threatened as the Cajuns went the entire match without recording a shot on goal.
Libby Probst scored the match winner for UA at the 35:53 mark. Gillian Kilburn score the Tide's other goal chipping one in at the 50:56 mark.
Alabama outshot the Cajuns (4-4-1) 19-4 and had nine corner kicks to just one for Louisiana-Lafayette.
Lindsay Webb led the Cajuns with two shots and Kelli Good and Courtney Kelly each had one shot apiece.
The Cajuns were playing the match without their leading goal scorer Tiffany Garber who is recovering from an ankle injury suffered last Friday against LSU.
UL Lafayette was also missing forward Lauren Schwindt who was serving a one-match suspension for a red card she received in the McNeese State match last Sunday.
Louisiana-Lafayette was shutout for the third straight match and lost on the opposition's home field for the first time this season.
The last time the Cajuns were held scoreless for three consecutive matches was a stretch from Oct. 19-26, 2001.
The Ragin' Cajuns will be off for the rest of the weekend and return to action next Friday in a 7 p.m. match at Cajun Field against South Alabama in the Sun Belt Conference opener.
