LAFAYETTE, LA - The University of Denver used excellent three-point shooting en route to a 69-59 victory over UL Lafayette on Saturday night.

The Pioneers shot a blistering 57.9 percent (11-of-19) from behind the arc, coming within one triple of a season high (12-of-27).

Spoiled by the loss, UL Lafayette guard Charlotte Green became the ninth member of the Cajuns 1,000-point club. Green notched her first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds and now has 1,003 points in her career.

Denver came out in the opening minutes of the second half and drilled four straight three-pointers in the midst of a 14-7 run to expand their lead to 52-35.

The Cajuns came back with a furious 11-1 run, highlighted by Green's 1,000-career point on a nice three-point play. Bernette Tolston hit her fourth three-pointer to pull the Cajuns to within seven, 53-46.

A trio of Pioneers accounted for a majority of Denver's scoring. Ragan Neblett and Tasha Jones each scored 19 points, including three triples apiece. Ashley Atkinson scored 14 points, including four three-pointers.

Tolston added a career-high 12 points for the Cajuns in a season-best 24 minutes off the bench. Brooke Williams added seven points and nine rebounds, while Ashley Blanche scored six points and grabbed four rebounds, all offensive.

The 25 points and 17 rebounds off the bench for the Cajuns mark a season-best in both categories.

The Cajuns found themselves down only three, 10-7, despite shooting just 18 percent in the game's first nine minutes. Denver warmed-up from the floor and used a 15-5 run to jaunt to take a 25-12 lead.

With less than four minutes remaining in the first half and UL Lafayette trailing 34-21, Cajuns head coach J. Kelley Hall received a technical foul. The Cajuns responded with a quick 8-3 spurt to cut the lead down to nine with 1:21 left.
