A native of France who has extensive experience as a professional player and possesses a varied coaching background, Bruno Chateau began his role as an assistant coach with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Volleyball program in July 2019.
 
Prior to arriving in Louisiana, Chateau entered the U.S. collegiate coaching ranks serving as a volunteer assistant on the staffs at Colorado College (2017) and Denver (2018). Both programs won over 90 percent of their matches, made NCAA Tournament appearances and claimed conference championships.
 
During that time, he was also involved at the club level coaching with TCV Volleyball Club in Colorado Springs and CCVC Volleyball Club in Panama City.
 
Chatueau’s coaching career was launched in his home country with Villejuif Professional Volleyball Club. He was the men’s and women’s league head coach from 2014-17 and also served as the program’s director handling logistics, planning and organization of events.
 
Chateau had the privilege of assisting with France’s Junior National Team during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaign.
 
His professional playing career, which spans from August 1996 through June 2008, also includes a stint with the FJNT. Chateau’s first foray into professional volleyball began with Plessis Robinson PRO in 1996 and included stops with various teams in the Paris region.
Chatueau received his degree in electrical engineering in 2001 from Ministry of National Education in France.
