Working his way up in the coaching ranks, hometown product Zach LaFleur joined the Ragin' Cajuns coaching staff in 2021 beginning as a graduate assistant before spending two seasons as a volunteer assistant. LaFleur, works with the team's outfielders and serves a first base coach, was named a full-time assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in August of 2023.

During his coaching tenure, LaFleur has been a part of one Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship (2022) and a pair of NCAA Regional appearances (2022-23).

A former Ragin' Cajuns letterwinner, LaFleur appeared in 91 career games as an outfielder for head coach Tony Robichaux from 2017-18. In his first season with the Ragin' Cajuns, LaFleur posted a .292 batting average, a .418 on-base percentage and swiped 10 bases in 36 games.

LaFleur spent two seasons at LSU-Eunice, where he was named a NJCAA Division II Third-Team All-American as a sophomore and  helped the Bengals capture a national championship as a freshman. He hit .414 in 54 games with 19 doubles, seven home runs and 57 RBI in 2016 and led the nation in stolen bases with 63 as a sophomore.

He was a three-year letterwinner at Lafayette's Teurlings Catholic High School, helping the Rebels to the Class 4A State Championship in 2012 and to the state semifinals in 2013. LaFleur was named to the LSWA Class 4A All-State baseball team as a senior.

LaFleur is a two-time graduate of UL earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2019 and Masters in Sports Management in 2022.
