Came to Louisiana as a catcher, but started just two games there, began seven in left field and even started at DH twice...Ended up at first base to fill in for an injured Justin Robichaux, starting 29 of his last 30 games there...Started 40 games overall and appeared in eight more...Hit .266 for fifth on the team, with 38 hits including five doubles, a triple and nine home runs, the second-best team mark...Developed his power late in the season, hitting just four of his homers in the first 41 games and the five in the last 18...Fell one triple short of the cycle on April 9 in a 14-8 win at McNeese State, smacking a single, double and solo home run while going 3-for-4 in the game...Drove in 24 runs and totaled 72 bases for a team second-best slugging percentage of .503, while tying for second on the team in walks with 21 to help him to a team-leading .390 on-base percentage...Safely stole all four attempted bases and came around to score 29 runs...Was the Cajuns Gold Glove with no errors in 249 chances, notching 224 putouts, 25 assists, and taking part in 16 double plays.

Played in 18 games as a freshman at Southern Miss in 2007...Hit .238 with three doubles and four RBI.

Was a three-year letterwinner at St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, La....Led Cougars to three district titles and three state playoff appearances...Was a two-time all-district and all-state honoree in 2005 and 2006...Named the 2006 All-Acadiana MVP...Drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 37th Round of the 2006 MLB Draft...Hit .445 with 14 home runs and 63 RBI as a senior in 2006.
